  1. Ogspider

    Ogspider Hitman Raider

    1.)Character Name: Ogspider
    2.)Character Class: Mage
3.)Which role are you primarily applying for?: Ranged DPS
    4.)Armory Profile Link: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/kiljaeden/Ogspider

6.)Please provide us with a link to your WarcraftLogs:

7.)Why do you want to join TFB? Why are you searching for a guild, and what expectations do you have?:

I want to find a long term home within the game where I can actually progress and improve with a group of people that keep it competitive. I would like to find a group that treats progression and end game content in a similar way I do, and doesn't make me feel as though my effort is being taken advantage of or wasted.

8.)Are you easily offended by racist, sexist, or other such humor?

9.)Do you have any friends within TFB? Any enemies?

10.)Do you have any alts worth mentioning?

My logs and armory are for my warrior which I have the most experience on, but I was asked to apply with my Mage in mind as I am willing and capable of making it my main raiding toon with a little more gear. I also have a mw monk and DH above 405 that I can play at a relatively high level, but do not have any relevant logs to share on these toons. Below is my armory for the mage, hopefully my warriors logs can help to give an idea of my performance (I believe I actually perform better on my mage than warrior once I get more familiar and geared on it).

11.)How do you ensure you handle mechanics with the highest success?

Learn the mechanics intimately. It is easy enough to not stand in a purple circle because it is bad, it is extremely more efficient to know exactly why you shouldn't stand in it and exactly what it will do. Deep understanding of mechanics allows you to adjust your play on the fly and make critically important decisions that could mean the difference between a raid wipe and a single sacrifice.

12.)Why do you play this game? What keeps you motivated to keep coming back for more?

I like to be consistently competitive and what I enjoy most in any game I play is improving and finding ways to try and compete at the highest level possible.

13.)How do you keep up to date on your class?

Constant research and testing using sims, forums, and streams. I like to see what is working for other people and try to figure out why, then analyze my own performance and sims to see where I can make improvements or if there is room to adjust my gear/spec/playstyle to become more optimized.

14.)An LGBTQ penguin walks through the door right now wearing a sombrero and demands you use their preferred gender pronouns. What do they say and what do you say back?

No matter what the penguin says i'm going to assume he's a baller and try to use him to pick up chicks, then get really upset when he/she/it/whatever takes my girl and i get cucked by a 2ft suit pigeon.

15.)What previous raiding experience do you have?

Currently 5/9M on my war, guild leadership (Wavvy) decided to switch to FF14 last week so I only have a few days of experience on M Rastakhan. I am constantly following the trends and streams to stay up to date on fight knowledge and unique uses for specs/tools throughout the raids. I am also very familiar of what is required of a top-level as I was a part of a majority of the world first kills in Age of Conan (yes it's super old and a long time ago, but the raid requirements and schedules were very similar to WOW's).

16.)What can we expect from you in our raids?

Consistency. I always show up, always show up on time, and can be relied on to give a very consistent performance. I typically will not start a fight off performing the best, but will learn the fight intimately and get to a point where I can perform it at the highest level and output as much as possible given the circumstances. My best feature is probably that I never really tilt or let outside forces influence my play to a significant degree.

17.)Despite our 3 day a week raid schedule and having an application that tests your humor, we can be very serious about DPS/HPS, reflexes, and raid attendance. Can you handle this kind of environment?

18.)If there's anything else you want to add; either a self bio, information about friends who may join, or if you simply want us to know something not asked, this is the time to let us know.

I've applied before when I had much less experience in the tier, so many of my answers might seem familiar.

19.)TFB has no guarantee that server transfers will be automatically accepted into the guild. Failure to perform at our level or failure to attend raids reliably during your recruitment period can and will result in denial. Do you accept this risk?

20.)How did you hear about us?

  2. Doldra

    Doldra Meleesexual Guild Officer

Hey Spider, we’ll give the logs a gander. Of course as somebody transitioning from one class to another we’ll more be scrutinizing mechanics than damage. We’ll let you know what’s up shortly.
  3. Astraeus

Astraeus Pope Benedict Arnold XIV Senior Officer Raid Leader

Hey there, we'd like to see what you can do in our coming clear (knock on wood) night, this coming Wednesday. If you're around and still willing to give us your pewpew, we'll give you a trial. See you there.
