1.)Character Name: Rutenio - Aerie Peak
    2.)Character Class: Druid
3.)Which role are you primarily applying for?: Ranged DPS
    4.)Armory Profile Link:

6.)Please provide us with a link to your WarcraftLogs:

7.)Why do you want to join TFB? Why are you searching for a guild, and what expectations do you have?:

I am searching for a guild because my guild died, but I want to keep raiding. I am not a guild hopper at all, I am looking to find and stay in a guild for a long time.

Specifically I'd like to go to a high pop server that raids weekdays. This is because my last two guilds have suffered from being Alliance, weekend, and low pop servers, which is just dogshit for recruiting, and both have died as a result.

Why TFB? It satisfies all the basic things I'm looking for specifically in a guild. Alliance, high realm pop, meets my schedule, weekday raiding. From the description and what I've seen, it's also a guild that has very stable roots and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I really value the stability this guild offers. It also looks like a guild that is full of adult players, and I trust adults over children when it comes to being social and working as a team on the internet. (e.g. not being selfish, showing up on time)

8.)Are you easily offended by racist, sexist, or other such humor?

9.)Do you have any friends within TFB? Any enemies?

    None that I know of

10.)Do you have any alts worth mentioning?

Not at the time, I've mained druid for all of BFA.

11.)How do you ensure you handle mechanics with the highest success?

For general mechanic knowledge, I just look at videos while reading tooltips. I've raided for a long time and mechanics really aren't that confusing to me at this point. Every now and then there will be a complex fight like Za'qul that can take some serious micromanagement, but I generally don't have trouble understanding mechanics.

My approach to doing fights is to first learn how not to die and not fuck up anyone else during the fight. After that, I will optimize my throughput while still not dying and still not fucking up the fight

To accomplish this, I first look at any videos of the fight. I take notes of general positioning, movement, and any dangerous mechanics that can kill you. Basically, I write down places where I might die, and plan to use defensive abilities there. I also look for the general strategy employed if its a bit of a complicated fight.

Second, I will look at some random wclogs of the fight and pull up Damage taken by players graph, damage done by players graph, damage taken by players by ability graphs and maybe some others depending on the fight. This is to just recognize and reinforce where you are most likely to die and to what abilities.

Lastly, I will pull up a sample of balance druids' logs and see what they do during the fight. This includes talents, cd usage, how they handled the movement and come up with a general strategy for what I'll do going in.

As a side note, I will also look for any WA that I think are necessary and that I don't know how to code myself, some really useful ones have been G'huun radar and kick rotation WAs

I generally run DBM and have everything turned on, and then slowly turn things off that I don't care about like tank mechanics to reduce clutter.

12.)Why do you play this game? What keeps you motivated to keep coming back for more?

I like killing hard bosses in a group of 20 friends. I also like the process of progressing on a boss and feeling accomplished once we can crush it.

13.)How do you keep up to date on your class?

Balance druid is very popular, so the class discord is the best place to go for people doing all the hard work for me (i.e. theory crafting what the optimal play style/builds are). It's also the place for any updates to the current play style or rotation, but that hasn't generally changed too drastically in a while. Balance druid is not that hard at a basic level.

For very specific gear choices, I sim my guy.

For practicing the game play, I raid and m+ and then look at my own logs. I look at basic things like canceled casts, resource management, buff uptime etc.

14.)An LGBTQ penguin walks through the door right now wearing a sombrero and demands you use their preferred gender pronouns. What do they say and what do you say back?

I don't really know how to answer this question, I'm not very funny

Penguin: Hey amigo, I am a penguin wearing a sombrero. You have to refer to me as they
Me: Can i call you a latinx pinguinx instead? that's more funny

15.)What previous raiding experience do you have?

Burning Crusade - balance druid thru Illidan progression. did not do sunwell
Did not play Wrath thru beginning of MoP
MoP: 10 man raiding 8/13H Throne, 10/14H Siege. Quit during siege due to college stuff

WoD: Did not really prog on M highmaul. Blackrock 5/10M, 13/13M Hellfire Citadel
Legion: Emerald full M clear, 2/3M Trial of Valor, 9/10M Nighthold, 7/9M tomb, 13/13M Antorus.
BFA: 8/8M Uldir hall of fame, 10/10M BoD, 1/2M CoS, currently 7/8M EP.

Guild died on week #2 or week #3 of mythic azshara progression due to attendance issues.

As a side note, I raid led the guilds I was in during ToV, Nighthold, Tomb, BoD, CoS, and EP.

16.)What can we expect from you in our raids?

Raiding is why I play this game. You can expect me to be motivated to log on, put forward my best game play and concentration during raid, and stay on until the raid is ended. You can expect me to be prepared and to have learned the basic mechanics prior to the fight. You can also expect me to stay in this guild should I be accepted and not really be looking to go anywhere barring some major change like a change in schedule.

You can expect me to be introspective and look at how I can do better between pulls, and to look at what others are doing better and learn from them, or to look at how others are dying or failing and avoiding their mistakes.

You can expect me to keep a clear mind and not get frustrated easily, and to be a team player and volunteer for any specific jobs. I don't really care about pushing my dps/hps to the limit if we would just wipe in doing so.

17.)Despite our 3 day a week raid schedule and having an application that tests your humor, we can be very serious about DPS/HPS, reflexes, and raid attendance. Can you handle this kind of environment?

Yes, this is the kind of environment I want to be in.

18.)If there's anything else you want to add; either a self bio, information about friends who may join, or if you simply want us to know something not asked, this is the time to let us know.

Here's a basic UI picture I took from an LFR run. The only thing that doesn't show is any weak auras I would have. I usually make my own for basic things, but I delete them every tier.

I'm also a huge mount whore and will not be afraid to compete with any of you.

On a more serious note, I raid led my current guild that died (handicap Hangtime) in BoD until it died. It's not something I really want to do again because it takes so much extra work outside of raid, but I think it made me much more sympathetic to what everyone's job is during a raid fight.

Finally, about me: I'm 25 y/o, have a stable job, have my own place and a girlfriend, and am in control of my own schedule. I want to log on to a guild that makes efficient use of the raid hours and you can expect me to do the same if I am accepted.

19.)TFB has no guarantee that server transfers will be automatically accepted into the guild. Failure to perform at our level or failure to attend raids reliably during your recruitment period can and will result in denial. Do you accept this risk?

20.)How did you hear about us?

Hey there Rutenio, thanks for applying! I know our raid lead and one of our resident Chickens, Ast, is currently at work (and so am I), so looking over logs and all will likely have to wait for a break time/after work, but gonna be quick to look when some time frees up, so sit tight!

    Thanks friend.
I forgot to add that I'm applying as balance druid, but I'm very comfortable with restoration in raids as well.

Astraeus Pope Benedict Arnold XIV Senior Officer Raid Leader

    Hi there,

everything here looks extra sexier than usual. Next Wednesday we'll be doing BoD for Jaina mount and then be right on Za'qul and Azshara afterward. We're on a 2 day raid schedule until 8.3 (and eventually 1 day). We're using a semi cleared EP for the next week so we won't get you in for a full EP until next-next Wed. Regardless, we'd love to invite you to trial and bring you to whatever we can. Let me know if you plan on Xfering or using X-realm to trial (we prefer the former but the latter is fine). See you soon!

I am around next week and the week after, yes.
I am moving on the 22nd and might not get internet/pc set up in time for thanksgiving week, so I might be unavailable then.

For transferring, I'd rather stay on server for at least a one more week. When I do transfer I'll probably do a guild transfer which will take me a while to consolidate.

Sure thing, I’ll throw you one before I head into work for today.

Edit: Also asked our healing officer Brenren to send one as well. Never hurts to do more than one.

Oh and chances are Ast will send one too when he gets home from work. Pretty sure he gets out well before I do.
